The Transcendence Orchestra are doubtlessly on a journey, steadfast in their dedication to the cause of their name. Following on from the sorts of tao spirituality that informed 20th century modern classical music in its dream of peace and oneness (we’re thinking La Monte Young and Terry Riley in particular), the on-going meditations of Anthony Child and Dan Bean culminate here with Feeling The Spirit, an LP occupied not by arrival but the constancy of movement. Wind chime textures ring from ‘Imagine A Mountain Named After A Hospital’, while the palpability of ambient drones emitted from ‘The Golden Jaws of the Celestial Vice’ almost seem to materialise as actual light.
