Following up some pin-sharp releases on Blackest Ever Black and Downwards, UK producer Regis returns to the latter once again for his first full-length release in ages — since 2010, by our estimation. As ever, Regis stays out of plain sight with Hidden In This Is The Light That You Miss, cloaking himself in a shroud of heavy industrial atmospheres, always ready to strike with a clutched rhythm. Skewering four to the floor simplicity for complexities and surprises, as in the moody squeal of ‘Another Kind Of Love’ and the haunting ambience of ‘Eros in Tangiers’, there’s still however a gesture to the underground club with the likes of ‘Calling Down a Curse’.
