What started as the one-off studio shacking of Johnny Nash and Suzanne Kraft, the duo’s MAT Studio project has gathered momentum such that a third instalment would seem appropriate. As always, MATstudio 3 gels conceptually with its predecessors, expounding longform numbers (roughly 15-minutes each) of experimental contemporary composition that at once recall an amniotic safety and a looming terror; drones swerve into minimal percussion across ‘Crushing Indifference’, while a luscious glow permeates its B-side counterpart ‘An Inn for Those Not Permitted’.
