Second Circle and Cabaret Voltaire’s Richard H. Kirk are an unexpected pairing, but on this new drop from Kirk’s Sandoz alias they work very well together. Rather than the legendary Sheffield group’s more confrontational industrial sound, these tracks, originally released in the early 90s through Kirk’s Intone label, tend more towards the kind of spiralling Balearic beats that we have come to expect from Second Circle. Some of the Sandoz tunes also incorporate influences from techno, electro and the dubwise experimentalism of African Head Charge.
