Embarrassed Landscape is the latest record of bracing and slightly folksy rock ‘n’ roll from Glasgow-based Irma Vep. Parts of this record come across akin to Bob Dylan in overdrive - cuts like epic opener ‘King Kong’ power forward like something from Dylan’s Desire LP rewired by Spacemen 3. More tender moments such as ‘Disaster’ and ‘Canary’ have a touch of the Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy’s about them. This is stirring stuff from Edwin Stevens et al.
