Bleep

Like everything on Paw tracks, this album is an intriguing release. This is from Excepter, who as we've mentioned before sound something like an arty, improvised New York Happy Mondays. Weird, splattery electronics that seem to be informed by something like Throbbing Gristle, Butthole surfers or IkeYard as much as early hip hop and dub, but held together by a kind of intuitive groove and surreal atmosphere. It's makes sense if you let it wash over you at high volume, like opening the door to some strange underworld.
