Black Aura, My Sun is an LP of lush and widescreen shoegaze from Los Angeles’ Deserta. Indeed, on tracks like ‘Hide’ the textures used by Deserta are so vast as to almost engulf the music’s dream-pop core, as if Beach House are being swallowed up by bvdub. At other times the Motorik thrust of The War On Drugs is fed into Deserta’s sound - ‘Monica’ being one of the best examples here. Get in, my sun.
