The latest Special Delivery from edit fiends Edit Service is a selection of new beat strangeness from Ólta Karawane. On Special Delivery Volume 5 we find the young Muscovite tweaking a set of 80’s post-punk. ‘Folle Vendredi Soir’ and ‘Les Portrait Le Diacre Astvatsatour Sarkissian’ fashion some lopsided grooves out of peculiar new wave originals (the latter features a cut-glass male and female couple lustfully reciting a shopping list). Later in the EP ‘Farine’ and ‘Racaille’ have a more propulsive, Italo-indebted feel.
