The union of Spring Heel Jack and Wadada Leo Smith continues to spawn some of the most interesting free music the UK has seen in years. After the success of 2018’s Hackney Road LP, this new set The Sweetness Of The Water expands the sound even further. Smith’s trumpet flip-flops all over proceedings while Spring Heel Jack serve up everything from funfair organ pieces to drunken free jazz sprawls.
