First, we’ll let you down gently - Cressida’s Borneo Function EP contains nothing that sounds remotely like the tune of the same name that Jez beatboxes in season four of Peep Show. Sorry about that. However, the producer more than makes up for the initial disappointment with what he brings to the table here. These are heavy techno malfunctions that incorporate elements of grime, breakbeat, trip-hop and dancehall. Cuts like ‘SansF’ and Borneo Function’s title track sound like one of Mumdance’s 909 shell downs cut on a wonky lathe.
