Take a listen to The Golden Filter’s intoxicating Dislocation EP and you’ll swear you’ll have heard it before, in any number of places. Fusing elements from myriad corners of underground music — industrial, post-punk, no wave, electro, minimal house — The Golden Filter is nevertheless a singular force of pure id. ‘All The Way In’ darkly pulsates and takes abrupt left turns into hypnotic austerity, while ‘Temple’ could easily be mistaken for an early Cabaret Voltaire outtake.
