New high sheen synth pop business here from the Optimo guys. They enlist New York group The Golden Filter for a five track EP that sounds part Chromatics, part Errors to our ears. Super clean production and wistful, cold wave esque vocals come together to form some sort of pleasantly nightmarish mutant pop EP. Fever Ray fans take note. The big hit is the opening cut ‘End of Times’, but ‘Heart Control’ is the one we’re coming back to. The record closes with a nice dub mix of ‘End of Times’ for all the DJ’s that want something a little more subtle to work with.
