FireScope label boss Steven Rutter (B12) joins forces with UK club veteran Kirk Degiorgio for an EP of astral techno. The Detroit influence has always been strong in the FireScope sound, but on Braconian Beta the stargazing tendencies of the Midwest are very much front and centre. This is no bad thing - the twittering synths and chunky grooves of ‘Reconnaissance Pass’ and ‘Encapsulation’ sound as good now as they did a couple of decades back.
