Electronic producers Niv Arzi and Dori Sadovnik aka Red Axes left Israel for the African continent — Ethiopia and Ivory Coast, among others — in search of musical collaboration. A series of musical encounters later, the Trips series came into existence. The driving techno beats of Trips #1: In Africa EP come accompanied with many different forms of rhythmic splendour, such as marvellous woodwind textures from Ivorian band Yakomin and rousing live percussion and group chanting from students of Insaac Music School.
