After three years away from the game, Gabriella Cohen has gone and signed with Captured Tracks for her second LP. This pairing makes sense - Cohen’s breezy, quietly confident indie-pop style finds her nicely placed alongside new labelmates Mac Demarco and Beach Fossils. The Brisbane singer-songwriter has turned in a fun, well-heeled collection of tunes for Pink Is The Colour Of Unconditional Love. The likes of ‘Baby’ and ‘I Feel So Lonely’ are charming sunshine pop that recall the heyday of Christopher Owens’ Girls project. Elsewhere the wry humour that runs through ‘Miserable Baby’ is reminiscent of Palberta and the aforementioned Demarco.
