This is a brilliant bit of musical archaeology from Concentric Circles. Ixna, a San Franciscan duo made up of Jay Cloidt and Marina La Palma, had previously only released one 7” back in 1981. The split of ‘Mi Ne Parolas’ and ‘Ixna Portal Exo’ was intended to lead on to the LP Knotpop, but that album got shelved and spent the next few decades gathering dust. Now we hear the whole thing it begs the question why this record hasn’t made it out of storage sooner. Drawing from the likes of Suicide, Pere Ubu, General Strike and Throbbing Gristle, Knotpop is a great set of golden-age art-rock.
