Second LP from Gajek here yet again gracing the Monkeytown label with a ten track odyssey of Berlin school, kraut-inspired digital dub mutations. The producer takes those early days of sequencers and cosmic spirituality and channels them through various pieces of contemporary equipment, creating some sort of ethereal post-club listening experience. Not what we were expecting from something new on Modeselektor’s label if we’re honest! Proper Ash Ra meets Ekoplekz vibes on the opening two tracks. The rhythmical whirring of ‘Trage Es Weit’ is a stand out too, some seriously interesting sound design going on with that one.
