The relatively new Mysteries Of The Deep label come through with arguably their most impressive release yet. William Selman used to make a muted hybrid of deep house and minimal techno as Warmdesk, but recent releases under his given name have seen the producer embrace a more weightless sound. Musica Enterrada is the latest fruit born of this newfound aesthetic. A dreamy ambient suite in six parts, Musica Enterrada sees Selman utilising synths and effects to create cerebral and beautiful soundscapes. It’s a joy to drift along in the gentle current of this LP. Imagine early Floating Points if you stripped out the rhythm section. Recent records from E Ruscha V and Seahawks also spring to mind.
