MIEN release their debut LP via Rocket Recordings (Gnod, Goat). The band are an alternative rock supergroup of sorts - The Horrors’ Tom Furse is probably their best-known member - and they certainly approach MIEN with confidence. Many of the cuts here are psychedelic, murky post-Kraut numbers in the vein of fellow Rocket act Bonnacons Of Doom. Tracks like ‘(I’m Tired Of) Western Shouting’ and ‘Hocus Pocus’ lope forward on staggering drums, hyper-delayed vocals and big blots of fuzzy noise. Occasionally the group come up with an excursion into droning ambience - try ‘Other’ in this regard.
