Matthew Bourne returns to the super underrated Leeds based label Leaf with a new album. Pioneers of 90s ambient/downtempo experiments, Leaf have always avoided any possible pigeonholing by consistently switching up their perceived agenda. For Isotach, Bourne prepares ten beautiful piano compositions. Think the crème de la crème of Windham Hill with a slightly modernised angle and you’re on the right path. With his last works being synth-laden epics (including a Kraftwerk-commemorative A/V piece), Isotach strips his sound right back to basics. Recommended for fans of Elodie Lauten, Mark Isham etc.
