Highly collectable imprint Elektron Grammofon follows up hot shots from Plaid, The Bug, Headless Horseman and Silent Servant with an absolutely stunning four tracker from Northern Electronics don Varg.
Solitary combines his signature Nordic techno sound with yet shows a somewhat different side to this most singular producer. Opening with the Sandwell District indebted 'No Borders' the gothic pads and downtempo atmospheres perfectly resemble the frosty isolationist sound of his and Abdulla Rashim's highly valued imprint. While he follows this with a darkside electro number 'No Laws (Skorpion vz 61)' that caters for the nightclub experience with a full knife addled spread.
On the B, 'Anti Government' uncoils itself with a reverb drenched passage of hollowed out ambience that echoes the desolation that stalks the empty streets of J. F. Sebastian's neighbourhood. While the closer (and brilliantly titled) 'Anti Everything' gives a blurred almost ragga sounding vox that slivers out of a crack made by a Lynchian techno double barrel to the throat.
Sickeningly good and enough to keep us at bay until Nordic Flora Series pt.4 - Crush lands in the coming months.
