Hungarian duo Magamura craft spacious electronic pieces that recall the genre’s best early offerings - Kraftwerk, Jean Michel-Jarre, that sort of thing - with liberal splashes of electric bass added at choice moments. Supernaturals opener ‘Aspen ‘92’ is a prime example, with a harmonious chorus of bleeps and bloops underpinning the sort of melody that would fit nicely into Trans-Europe Express or Autobahn. The two b-side cuts wiggle and wriggle with tight bass grooves that dovetail with mangled drum loops. The cuts on the second vinyl explore further afield, with poppier tracks like ‘Youth’ sandwiched between the off-the-deep-end exploratory works ‘One-Two-Three’ and ‘Roon’.
