Sasha’s 2016 LP Scene Delete contained as many tracks that looked away from the club as those concerned with making the room move. How fitting, then, that the latest in a remix series that has already seen appearances from Rival Consoles and Matthew Dear presents two beautiful edge-of-the-dancefloor cuts, both as homely as they are groovy. Plaid’s version of ‘Abacus’ twists and turns gracefully, channelling the spirit of Boards of Canada and Nigel Godrich (the latter of which had a hand in the original LP) as a lackadaisical drum pattern underpins warm, twinkling synthesisers. The Christian Loeffler remix of ‘Shelter’ is more tender still, with voices and keyboards blooming gracefully for a full six minutes while drums patter gently offstage.
