Enigmatic Berlin group, The Newcomer, welcome you into their fantastical world with new EP, Mirelet Unsette Moiyana, on Kaleidoscope’s Aether Editions series. The Aether series embraces the trippier end of experimental electronica, with other releases from Actual magic and Patten. The new EP is a dreamlike collection of ambient soundscapes and twisted IDM, from the light and dewy strings of ‘Conasthesis’ to the sharp-edged weirdness of ‘Aelen Rache’. The Newcomer are not, in fact, new to the scene, having performed under several different guises. However, an air of mystery remains around this group, and their music only adds to the puzzle.
