Raw, stripped backed grooves, executed in a no frills or spills manner are what newcomer DXC provides over the course of four tracks for Scuba’s Hotflush Recordings. Close followers of Scuba will recognise two of the cuts from his Fabric 90 mix out earlier in 2016. The title track slowly builds with tough percussive hits and seductively wacky melody. Punchy kicks permeate ‘Lang Thang’, a dubby bassline rumbles in the back, while incessant hi-hats occupy the fore and eventually echoed-out pads rock steady. It’s a solid EP with tracks made for movin’ and groovin’.
