Manchester producer and Keysound, UTTU and Ruf Kutz affiliate Samrai debuts on Don’t Be Afraid sub-label DUBS. Khadi rolls along slowly, bringing to mind the soulful and sub-heavy UK garage sound but with a slightly psychedelic feel. On the flip, Ann Arbor resident and multidisciplinary artist James T. Cotton brings it down to its bare bones, a rhythmically reliant piece of hypnotic dancefloor material. Think Champion or Funkystepz.
