San-Francisco based producer, Ben Winan returns with a new four tracker on Hieroglyphic Being’s Mathematics imprint, a label now in its twentieth year and still putting out some of the most exciting music around. It’s an EP of variety, with the beat less, ‘Extending Peace Beyond the Stars’ portraying true melancholic beauty that even the late Ian Curtis would’ve been proud of. The title track is loose and grooving with a bounding bassline to boot. ‘Therapy for the Modern Mind’ is where it all gets a bit wild. Crunchy drums and wired synth lines squirm around the soundscape with intent.
