Inga Copeland continues to evade all pigeonholing with her new LP as Lolina, the trademark Copeland sounds are here, metallic drums, the vocals that could of only come from her and an experimental edge to the beats that really allows the silence to bleed through. Billed as a live LP (but who really knows, aye?) the sounds on show drift between newly plated updates of recent favs such as the Hyperdub-wise I Am Your Ambient Wife, here given a 'live' rendition, previous Lolina 12" track Lolina (which feels as if each sound is literally splashing across each other as it unfurls) while new rolls of the dice like a Chance go proto-disco and come off like a spannered retake of New Order's Perfect Kiss (listen to believe) whilst the guitar heavy Last Days Of Being A Wanker cuts through the term experimental with a head high confidence. At first listen its a pretty hard record to get your head around, but having given it a few spins it really starts to sink in and its discombobulated angles make a strange sort of sense. Believe the hype!
