Wanda Group returns to Opal tapes with his second serving of abstractions, following his acclaimed debut LP Piss Fell Out Like Sunlight with the Central Heating LP. Akin to his ’16 cassette on NNA tapes, here Johnstone smelts equal parts field recording, sound design and musique concrete to form one disorientating, dissonant alloy where it becomes tough to really ascertain where the sound is coming from. That said, that’s most likely his aim, which he achieves over two 20 minute plus jaunts that could easily form a backdrop to a psilocybin-induced Lynchian fantasy – if that’s your thing.
