One of Europe’s finest under-the-radar imprints Where To Now? kick off their 2016 programme with this 1xLP by Berlin based sound-artist and composer Yair Elazar Glotman. He ordinarily uses reel-to-reel tape loops, 4-Track cassette decks, but here straps on the Buchla Modular (recorded at the famous EMS studios, Stockholm no less) and with Traces of Weakness gives us an suite of impeccable Pan Sonics… Having recently worked with James Ginzburg (Subtext Recordings boss), the four tracks here crackle and fizz like the best raster noton and Ginzburg’s own Emptyset; loaded with drama, grace and fragility.
