Parisian producer Jean Nipon is best known for his releases on ClekClekBoom and Silverback Recordings, but here he makes his debut for L.I.E.S. in the form of Industrial Steal Vol. 2. Nipon explores fractured house sounds across the EP, adopting a mouthful of a new alias (Jean Nipon & the Magendie High School) to do so. ‘Tepco Cunts’ is a rugged beat track whose title takes aim at the cleanup operation following the Fukushima disaster. B-side tracks ‘Women’s Facility (Conjugal Mix)’ and ‘Avoid Romance’ are somewhat more rich and mellow, but still have a keen sense of groove.
