Kompakt issue the second album from Cologne-based duo Coma. This Side of Paradise features eight tracks of lovely, warm electronic pop that owes as much to groups like New Order and classic dance producers like Giorgio Moroder as it does Kompakt’s own brand of techno. The album doesn’t deviate too heavily from the style of their 2013 debut In Technicolour, but it does refine that style, perfecting a sound that’s bright, melodically rich, and carefully arranged. You can imagine it working just as well in your headphones as it does a concert hall or even a club.
