Now, this is approximately 3000% more accessible than that ever sounds on paper. Take opening track, I Tre Antonio Della Basilicata - "Tarantella Popolare", for instance. We are treated to an hypnotic, snake-like rhythm that sounds like Richard Skelton on his Eastern holidays playing off against a modal melody line which could easily be plucked from the Ableton grid of messrs Shackleton, Appleblim. Or the distorted Omar S(ouleyman) bounce of Zurnaci Mahir & Ali - "Karzana Oyun Havasi" ; music this old, can still sound utterly vital. Even if you have no care for modern day analogy, this represents an important document in time and place, as always packaged with full care by Dust To Digital.
