A new instrumental album from one of the founding members of Depeche Mode, Martin Gore. Gore began crafting this evocative and forward-facing long-player as Depeche Mode were wrapping up their 2013 Delta Machine tour. Returning to his home studio in Santa Barbara, he aimed to create a series of tracks that explore a futuristic space-age sound. Having written countless instrumentals for the band over the years, there is an ease and effortlessness to MG which only adds to the listening experience. The cinematic qualities of the LP shine through on the machine-heavy electronica of Brink and tranquil serenity of Europa Hymn. The record doesn't teach us anything we didn’t already know about Gore’s superhuman talent as a producer and instrumentalist but it showcases the breadth and depth of his artistic vision perfectly.
