The Beijing/Hong Kong music duo FM3 consisting of Christiaan Virant and Zhang Jian are better known for producing the ambient loop generator, the Buddha Machine. This is the duos first album in 10 years and mixes hypnotic, electronic loops and bleeps with acoustic piano and violin to create some beautiful modern compositions. ‘Ting Shuo’ is somber and eloquent whilst the suspended rests and breaks in the piano playing throughout the track ‘Fo Wo’ is astoundingly pensive as steady, warped loops fade in and out, creating a perfectly mellow arrangement.
