Following his full-length debut ‘After Forever’ on techno institution Dekmantel last year, New Jersey producer Joey Anderson resurfaces on the Amsterdam label with the vibrant 1974 EP. Anderson styles his pieces with moiré effects, superimposing repetitive elements on repetitive elements - the patterns he creates are of a hypnotic nature that constitutes his signature sound. This focus on texture keeps the EP together, uniting contemplative Fender Rhodes notes (1974), syncopated claps (Back draft) and unobtrusively overdriven leads (Under Water) in a shuffling flow.
