New Jersey producer Joey Anderson follows up strong showings on Latency, Syncrophone and Avenue 66 with another serving of deep, leftfield techno for Amsterdam’s Dekmantel. True to his dance background, Anderson’s tracks never stop moving, or changing. ‘Repulsive’ features a rigid synthline slowly suffocated by layer after layer of percussion and alien FX. ‘Sky’s Blessings’ is vintage Terrence Dixon/Detroit tech, hypnotic and spacey, but tethered to the Earth by a clipped vocal sample and soulful piano. The closer, ‘Heaven’s Archer’, serves as both 4AM cool down and first-light lazer show, ending this one on the right foot.
