Canadian indie electropop duo Purity Ring, comprised of Megan James and Corin Roddick, follow up their widely acclaimed 2012 debut Shrines with a long player for 4AD. Another Eternity sees the pair working together in the studio for the first time, and the results are every bit as dazzling as their previous collaborations via correspondence have promised. Lead single ‘Push Pull’ floats James’ trademark sugar-drenched vocals across a dense plateau of sub-synths and loping half-speed beats, while the syrupy chords, ice-cavern reverb and high-gloss production of album standouts ‘Repetition’ and ‘Begin Again’ jar against the unnerving lyrics that have become Purity Ring’s calling card.
