Italian collective Gang Of Ducks hand a debut release to one of their close associates, Turin-born producer and visual artist Sabla who dispenses his highly hypnotic, industrial grade Spirits EP. Sabla’s consuming, highly textured, repetitive polyrhythms diffuse over drugged, sluggish beats; beginning with the enraptured ‘Di Lei’ and eerier ‘Spirits’, through to the more voodoo-indebted, primordial pairing of ‘J-lii’ and ‘Control Room’. For remixes, label heads G.O.D focus on the space inside ‘Spirits’, creating a dilapidated expanse populated with ghostly voices, whilst Ital draws out the track’s dancefloor essences with a glossy, main-room friendly interpretation.
