Shifted returns to his own Avian label with two linked but distinct bodies of work, the two-part Arrangements in Monochrome EPs. The first sets the tone, with searing drone sounds that both hypnotise and penetrate. Opener 'You're A Replacement' is a dark and direct piece, bass kicks muffled beneath swells of of noise. The first 'Arrangement in Monochrome' features straightforward and immersive percussion that's offset by a swirl of industrial noise, gurgling and acidic synth patterns floating above like a sonic nightmare. '6ft of Silence' as its title suggests, goes deep underground, while 'The Velvet Rope' closes the release with abstract drone above inflamed rhythms.
