Bleep

The second release from Obsession Recordings established earlier this year by Matt Didemus, one half of the Canadian duo Junior Boys. On the A side are two tracks from Primitive World, the first, ‘Purple Caps’, begins with an oscillating synth loop and pummelling bassline that is gradually overwhelmed by misfiring electronic sparks, the track reaching its climax in a noise freakout. ‘Tides of Lust’ is equally unpredictable, built on a pulsating background that gives the track an incredible sense of motion. The second side, by Yør, is an Amazonian acid trip gone wrong in two parts: at once tribal and machine-like.
