Newcomer J Tijn has been receiving attention off the back of pair of quality releases for Pennyroyal, this time he turns out the diverse ‘Flat’ EP for London’s WNCL recordings. First off “Flat” leads the way through a jagged kick before feel-good chords lift the mood, following with the hard swinging “Cuthbert, Dibble, Grub”. The flip offers two airy, working dub-chord cuts reminiscent of some of the better Fachwerk releases. One to watch.
