Makaton and Regis provide a visceral, heavy testament to HOG’s enduring three decades of club with some cavernous and nocturnal tracks. ‘Your confusion. Our illusion.’ rotates around a lurching, trembling bassline, shifting between frothing rhythms and abstracted synth blasts, and electrifying feedback reflected in the industrial slashes of ‘Black country’. Regis’s cuts meanwhile are stygian and totally hazed out, made for playing in dusky bunkers and factory venues where the skittering edits and resounding, hammering beats bounce off the walls.
