Trumpeter, producer and composer Matthew Halsall returns to Gondwana Records with a fresh pressing of his previously self-released Bright Sparkling Light EP. Initially born as a tour-only curiosity as he took last year’s An Ever Changing View LP on the road, these tracks were cut from the same sessions and bear a similar fusion of jazz, electronica, and world music. The beguiling title track proves their cast-off status was similar a matter of thematic cohesion over inherent quality as it stands among the most beautifully rendered in Halsall’s entire oeuvre. Act quick before this run dries up, as it won’t be repressed again.
