‘Proper Headshrinker’ is the latest from Stephen Sharp and Roc Jimenez de Cisneros’ self-confessed Rave Synthesis, a mind-bending deconstruction process of the ingrained elements of techno culture, the content of which was first presented in public as part of a group exhibition curated by Emptyset’s Paul Purgas in Stockholm. The ten tracks in the album are undoubtedly unlikely techno anthems – stripped down hoovers and deformed supersaws driven by extremely simple cyclic patterns.
