‘BLAQUEWERK’ again proves Glaswegian label Numbers' importance. Opening track ‘On Your Mind’ manages to blend the old with the new in a fine display of tension building analogue snare rolls and tape fuzzed basslines, whilst ‘Geek’d Up’ is a stripped-back example of simplicity at its most impacting. ‘Black Reign’ experiments with the darker side of garage whilst ‘Nova’ is a mournful play on precision-crafted breaks and drum & bass. Killer.
