With a nod to George Orwell, Martyn makes a much welcomed return gracing out speakers for Steffi’s Dolly label. With ‘Newspeak’ the Dutchman seems to embody something only previously heard from him in passing – a kind of warm and deep bliss that envelops the listener with swinging Latin-sounding percussion and glistening chords. As the EP progresses so do the tempos, resulting in two slick and dynamic house heavyweights.
