Emptyset present their first project since 2019's Blossoms, delving further into rough hewn, hard edged sonics. ash is a cycle from spark to ignition to remains and back again, filled with heavy, coarse friction between abstract noise, metallic resonance, and plummeting beats set firmly on the bass end of the spectrum. 'Flint' lurches and groans with an unrelenting stomp breaking up the fried atmosphere, slashing surges rip a background of distorted synths on 'Ember' to shreds, and 'Rise' spews smoke over dense, drawn out klaxons of bass.
