Eight years have passed since Michael Mayer's debut album, and in the interim his output has taken on a cinematic quality. Though there is no lack of dancefloor pulse throughout, but extended sections of layering textures, beat-absence, and vocal curiosities break the standard cadence of dance singles; here is a refreshing departure from the standards of the format with authentic album narrative.
