Howse is the latest cohort to sign to the electronic underworld of Tri Angle records. Although we don’t know much about the young producer, we know that he pieces together deconstructed dance floor jams with effortless skill. His vision of the undergrowth is replete with juddering footwork rhythms, erotic screams and snapshots of B-movie horror, deep quivering subs and speed-driven patterns of 808 focus. ‘Lay Hollow’ finds a remarkable footing, somewhere in between tender ambience and tempestuous nerve.
